As I was doing an interview for an upcoming magazine feature, I was asked what the one piece of advice I would give to all brides and grooms would be. Simple. Let your personality dictate your wedding style. So today, I thought we could take a little
break from tradition and show you two weddings that didn’t take themselves too seriously. Two weddings that are all about the charm, all about personality.cheap evening dresses
First up, this completely whimsical, totally original wedding that Lolipop Events and Designs sent our way…inspired by the couple’s love of wine country. For those of you that don’t already know about Lollipop Events, you’ll
definitely want to add them to your radar. SUCH creativity coming out of this little event design firm, with style literally bursting from their seams. Plus, they have an amazing blog and a gallery of the most adorable ideas you’ve ever seen so
even if you aren’t in the market for a wedding planner, it will be a fun little visit.prom dresses
San Luis Obispo held a special place in the couple’s hearts and made for a perfect launch pad for this “Wine Trolley Wedding”. The weekend fun was started off with a welcome dinner. To keep things interesting we went a
completely different design direction from the rustic/mod wedding to come and instead welcomed guests with a Latin style affair. Guests were served pitchers of mojitos, and traditional Brazilian appetizers. Fun dice games, and props were set at each
table to serve as comical “ice breakers”for the events to come.evening dresses
For the ceremony, we created a new site on a classic vineyard and incorporated an ancient oak to frame the vineyard setting. The bride made a grand entrance by walking through a suspended ruffled pergola placed at the beginning of the aisle way
instead of the traditional placement at the end of it. Programs were printed directly onto brown paper lunch bags and filled with horns that said to “blow” and confetti that said to “throw”. Following the ceremony, the guests
toasted the new couple that had their own colossal couture wine goblets, which served as their tasting cups for the day.wedding dresses
-The Black and Gold color palette. INSANELY chic. Total glam. Such a great palette for a high fashion, modern wedding. cheap evening dresses
-Choose a space that is somewhat of a blank canvas. This loft in New York would be perfect. A modern restaurant, an art gallery, a simple but chic hotel would all make perfect canvases for this look.
-High gloss vessels. Yep, scour flea markets for centerpiece vessels (from candle holders to vases) and spray paint them with a super high gloss paint. For an even glossier finish, you can use an oil based paint for metal and wood. You’ll
actually save a bundle by creating centerpieces that are more structural than flower-heavy.
-Create a photo frame wall. You can do this inside or out and have SUCH a great little spot for your guests. Mix and match ornate frames to achieve this look. This particular look was created with a few old frames and some gold spray paint. Total
DIY.prom dresses
-Accent with funky but chic details…a black birdcage, gold votives, black or gold branches, gold tassels stitched on the edges of black napkins. Think high glam, high drama detailing.
-If you are already renting china, think about renting a super glossy black style. Of course, this isn’t terribly budget friendly but it will totally change the look and style of the tables. If you are using provided china, just make sure that
the other details, which can be DIY-ed are dramatic. A simple black linen (or overlay to save $$), black napkins with gold cord wraps, inexpensive gold chargers.evening dresses
-Use black satin ribbon in abundance. Wrap your bouquets with it, hang your picture frames with it, wrap cylindrical vases with it.
